Main Campus: The Master Plan

In 1995, Illinois Institute of Technology's Board of Trustees approved the recommendations of the National Commission for IIT. These recommendations for renewal of the university included a commitment to maintain and renovate its historic Main Campus located on the South Side of Chicago at 33rd and State Streets. The following pages document the implementation of a new Main Campus Master Plan, developed by Lohan and Associates in 1996 at the trustees' request. The renewal of the campus buildings, the McCormick Tribune Campus Center and the landscaping was funded through the IIT Challenge Campaign.
